Who Gets To Parent?
This series of digital shorts came into existence during it's creators assisted reproductive technology journey as a Queer inter-racial couple. They began documenting the many systemic barriers to parenting that they faced, and, as they continued our journey to parenthood, decided to share this journey in order to empower, educate and build community for others like us, for medical practitioners, scholars and policy makers.
Click below to screen the first four episodes of this mini-series. Screening is pay-what-you-can.
These first four are still in production, and we hope to raise funds for color grading and sound editing. We also hope to be able to complete the next six episodes, which are filmed and partly edited. This project is a labor of love from the creators and has been almost completely self-funded. Any money we raise will be used to complete this project, which we hope to use to continue to build community and resources for LGBTQIA+ persons who wish to parent, and to provide information that can be used in making practical changes within medical institutions.
We hope this series can contribute to addressing reproductive health disparities for health equity.
